Why I love Quantum Physics

Why I love Quantum Physics

Just those words together maybe sound intimidating. Physics and in and of itself is a complex topic that shines light on how things work on Earth and in our Universe. This type of physics is actually Newtonian physics. Now that there are other schools of thought it is important to differentiate. Newtonian physics brought us a long way; it held our understanding of how things work. Some even still salute this old school info as the only physics. I am in no way saying it is obsolete, it explains some things quite well. There are also some major gaps.

Quantum mechanics begins to open up a whole new understanding of how things work on a whole other level, quite literally. I love quantum physics because it is scientific proof that shows how interconnected we are to every. single. other. human. and every single other loving thing on this planet!

This includes our mama Earth herself. Someone with half a brain can see that we are in need of some major changes around how we approach our daily lives. Taking our Earth for granted has gotten us to a disgraceful place of what is happening in the world today. Living thing–all interconnected–struggling to survive, living in a constant survival mode. Interesting how our Earth is in a grave state and humanity is following suit.

The quantum connection between us humans and the state of our planet-being is well understood. You’ve known this, you’ve seen it in movies–it is looked at as a finite resource. You may have even heard something like, “when the earth runs out of resources we can go find a new planet”. Well, that’s laughable at best. Mama Earths intelligence outweighs our smartest humans all combined. Her wisdom–which is ever present in each of our human bodies as well–is far superior to any of our sciencey solutions.

This isn’t about convincing you why quantum physics is relevant–nor about me explaining what it is. It is a complex yet simple subject that allows a “new” reality to exist from the current paradigm of thinking. It allows the expansion of our consciousness, connectedness and beingness.

Did you know that there are many smaller particles–teeny tinier than even the proton–which is still taught in our archaic educational system to be the smallest particle? There is hard evidence of this. There is hard evidence that time and space have no bearing on a proton activity. They can be miles apart and as one particle is jiggled–there is not even a fraction of a microsecond of difference–they are absolutely connected through the vast lattice that we call space (not outer space).

Ever think of someone you care about and within a short period of time they text or call you, or you run into them on the street? This is a living example example of quantum physics in your life.

If you are able to keep your mind open to possibilities, that information is ever evolving, that science is not God. That often, science is grossly wrong and we end up having to massively backtrack to take to make up for things we thought were ultimately true by science–yet are so freaking far from one ounce of truth.
This phenomenon may come down to one thing: our ability to admit when we’re wrong.

How easy is it for you to admit when you made a mistake? Some may find it easier and for some, especially those who teach or are in the public eye, this can be extremely difficult. It is actually a skill that needs practice and intention. Consider observing this in your self.

You can ask yourself, “do I get tense in my body somewhere upon the thought of being wrong about something?”

Of course you do, it is human nature. Throughout our evolution, being wrong likely meant the difference between living or dying – i.e. neurological survival mechanism.

These days we have a zillion more tools available making that robust mechanism more useful in a few scenarios while possibly hindering us with what I’m talking about here. It is still there, nonetheless. You can give yourself the ultimate opportunity for growth by leaning into this! Try it with something small, “I’m going to make it through the next green light” or better yet “the light will change to yellow, then it will be too late for me to get through.”

WRONG?!

You’ve made it through, not even a crease of yellow yet. This example is interesting because even though this is something to feel relieved about – – it may make you feel some kind of way for being “wrong”. (what I mean is literally feel some feelings in your body) What are the sensations that are telling your physiology you were wrong? To practice this, your task is to notice these feelings, where do they show up – chest, thighs, shoulders…? Now – find a way to admit you were wrong – what happens now to that tension? The answers are for you, in your practice.

This is a super small example but our bodies are so intelligent! The good thing is we learn fast, we just have to try be open and remind ourselves we are safe, OK and doing our best (link social Vagus). Practicing being wrong and small ways will elevate your ability to think for yourself and to think more critically–which the world desperately needs.

Circadian Rhythms

Circadian Rhythms

Did you know, the longer you are outside, the natural light of the sun (dawn and dusk included) helps set and balance your sleep rhythms with the Earth? It does! It helps your circadian rhythm realize what your sleep cycle should look like according to the Earth’s rhythms. Our species has evolved in direct relationship with this rhythm from the beginning of humanity; it makes sense that getting in touch with Her (literally!) would help our body remember when to reset and rest and when to wake up and Live!

Be honest, when is the last time you spent an entire day outside? Like a 12 hour day, nonstop. Something I notice is when we go camping, I not only sleep earlier and better while we are in the tent, I also maintain that earlier and better sleep for a week or so after. That is one of the countless reasons I love camping. And one of the best parts about that is, there’s plenty of science to back up why my experience with better sleep happens.

Dr. David & Austin Perlmutter’s recent book Brainwash recommends ONE 12-hour day outside per week to manitain not only sleep cycles, but overall health (especially for the brain) and well being (mind).

If you’re in the US, it is summer here so now is a great time to give this a try!

Another great book “Why We Sleep?” by Matthew Walker, gives a separate and similar tool.

On the other 6 days a week (or all 7 if you can’t quite get that 12-hour day in) get outside for 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the evening minimum. I’ve tried this and it has been the fastest thing to regulate my sleep (along with avoiding blue light within the hours before bed!)

Also, there’s a bonus if you have small kids. They are already pretty in tune with these rhythms, since their brains are still hugely developing and they are so new to our brain-assaulting ways of life. Even if we didn’t quite make the full hour, the trips outside am/pm make a HUGE difference in their overall regulation–especially when we’re consistent (which isn’t always the case). This just becomes another go-to when I start seeing dysregulation in them!

The wavelengths of light provided by the sun are medicinal, energizing and nutritional for our bodies, minds and spirits. Lack of sunlight accounts for much of the sickness in our modern-day world. From chronic conditions to mental health–many of our ails can be greatly healed by increasing our sun exposure and time outside. Get out there!

If you think “it’s not worth it”

If you think “it’s not worth it”

When you get an invitation to try something new, a new breath work, a guided meditation, a morning ritual, a nature walk, a radically simple idea that you perceive to have possibly even minuscule effects on your body and your overall health–what do you think? Do you even give it a chance?

Maybe a fleeting moment where you think–if I do, do that, “I would be ______” “my life would ________!” “__________ would be better!” And then it passes, going back into the abyss of potential. OR maybe you try it once, feels really good. But then you feel silly or stupid because it’s too simple and it’s not normal.

I just simply want to point out that the people who DO try, who put a tiny bit of effort towards the simplicity that modern neuroscience says makes massive changes in our human existence and experience–are often thriving and living a very full life. The people who are applying these simple ideas, practice and strategies are often feeling abundance, joy and gratitude each and every day. (I’m not saying these things are *all* that they experience, that’s not how being human works.)

What does living a full life mean?

It’s not full in a sense of longevity or timing, or even the amount of things packed into a day, week or year. FULL in a sense of fulFILLment, of a joyFUL experience because they’re making choices that benefit them and put their Self first. Doing the simple things leads those who apply to Be, just Be.

Doing the simple things can have unending/ unlimited potential for possible effects on your life–from quieting the chatter of your mind, to sleeping more restfully, to having zest for your life, your days & your living all-together.

Those weirdos doing these things are experiencing some aspects of life that you can too. Give yourself the opportunity to thrive by deciding to do something for your Self that feels “weird”, new or even pointless. Give it a genuine chance….. Would you?

The proof is in the puddin’ people. Just look how BlissFULL those “weirdos” are.

Your Connective Tissues

Your Connective Tissues

Our connective tissues don’t get the love they deserve–literally and figuratively. Your skin, your blood, your fascial system are all connective tissues. You know that white stuff you see when you peel and orange or a grapefruit… your body has a similar tissue between all of your muscles large and small. It’s much stronger and holds tons of neurological cells as well–that is your fascia.

These tissues specifically hold a lot of your life experiences right in their very fibers. Have you ever heard the saying, “your issues are in your tissues”? I’ve been studying this for nearly ten years and have has many teachers, mentors and books confirm this. Countless studies and support for this exist. (A great book is Molecules of Emotion by Candice Pert).

Our emotions and feelings–not released–hugely impact the make-up of our Being. [body] At some point we need to own up to what we haven’t done for ourselves and do it because we know, deep down, it is what we need. Taking a break from life-(work, parenting, playing, etc.) for five minutes to breathe. (Yes, you read that right, just to breathe.) That five minutes will have resounding impacts for your body and your connective tissue. Medical Pharmaceutical science tells you that you shouldn’t be in pain, that you shouldn’t ill. That they have the to fix… the pill!!

Quantum science and vitalism (a ‘for life’ belief system/science) actually give you the opportunity to hear what those pains/ills are telling you.

If your care came up with a big blaring flashing light with a loud signal on the dash saying that something is wrong, you wouldn’t ignore it or say that it wasn’t worth looking into. You likely wouldn’t put a bandaid of a piece of duct tape over top of the light and disconnect the fuse for the alarm. —Yet, honestly, do you do this with your body?

People do it all. the. time. I used to do this all. the. time! It’s a journey to exploring where and why those lights are flashing and that siren is blaring (pain & symptoms). Yet uncovering the depths of the causes is liberating and deeply healing.

Rather than continuing to ignore the signs that something is wrong, you’re invited to begin to inquire why something is wrong.

It’s funny that a car, made by people, sets off an alarm/engine lights and we believe the warning signal. We are taught and learn what to do and how to resolve the problem. Truly looking for the root cause and not just turning off the warning light. Then, when it comes to our miraculous human body, made by an intelligent, creative force, we think “it” is the problem. Theres something wrong with my (insert body part name).

Again, that vitalistic perspective looks at the entire system of the body as globally functioning, opposed to a bucket of parts (western, pharmaceutical science). What is the whole of information coming into your Being [body]. How are your thoughts, your actions, your environment, your relationships, your values? Existing out of alignment with your Self brings about warning mechanisms. I invite you to look at your whole Self for information that may serve you. Your connective tissues are a great place to start. Are they tight, tense, painful. What if you give them some love by foam rolling, stretching or moving differently? What kind of emotions emerge as you tune in? How can you move that around and pass it through those tissues maybe even converting it to usable energy for yourself?

Consider that your current belief system/ paradigm–what you’ve been taught, led to believe, or thought to be true about your body, mind & spirit could all be DEAD WRONG.

What is Thrival Mode

What is Thrival Mode

Thrival Mode is a feeling, like the exact opposite feeling of survival mode. It feels like already Being enough. Thrival mode is a feeling that embodies fun, flow and joy all together. Thrival Mode allows you to just Be YOU. It is a state of mind that keeps you on point and moving in the right direction. Thrival mode is a feeling of continuous growth and adaptation. Thrival mode feeling is loving every second of life and living your fullest potential–that is ever expansive!

Bring in Thrival mode feels like security and safety in the seven areas of your life. It feels like being in control of your body, your choices and your actions. It feels like connecting with yourself and others. Thrival mode feeling allows you to be open to new ideas and to be more receptive to life in general.

What else does Thrival Mode feel like to you?
